Mass: footnote

The Cistercian in Idungus’ Dialogue explains that the White Monks only used incense at the sacrament of the altar and on feast days, and refers to the unnecessary expense of frankincense and myrrh that were used lavishly at Cluny.

[See Idungus, Dialogus, III: 23 (p. 113).]
