Thomas Paslew, abbot of Fountains 1434-43
(resigned)
He was comely and handsome in person, in
soul devout, in
countenance serene, affectionate to the brethren and kind to all. (1)
Thomas was struck by paralysis and resigned
from the abbacy of Fountains a year before his death. He was buried
in the nave of the abbey church, between the altars of St Mary
and St Bernard.(2)
