Pencil drawing on brown paper of Kirkstall Abbey church and east range by Joseph Farington (1747-1821).  Farington visited Kirkstall Abbey in 1792 and 1801. The artist was also well known as a diarist. Entries in his diary for 27th and 28th August 1801 record a visit to Kirkstall Abbey to draw this picture of the ruins. Leeds Art Gallery 495/23.
