The will of the Countess of Cambridge: footnote
- Testamenta Eboracensia II: A selection of wills from the registry at York,
Surtees Society XXX (1855) no. 97, pp. 118-24, at pp. 118-21,
and
p. 123. Matilda, countess of Cambridge, was daughter of Thomas
Clifford, and wife to Richard Plantagenet, earl of Cambridge
(and grandson
of Edward III). She had no children and spent most of her widowhood
at Conisbrough Castle. Matilda died shortly after this will was
made, on 26 August 1446.
- It is not known where exactly this was in the church.
