John Dodsworth, monk of Roche

John was the bursar of Roche, and was one of the three monks accused of sodomy by Layton and Legh in 1535/6. Following the dissolution of Roche he may have obtained a chantry in Kirk Bramworth parish church in 1540. John later became rector of Armthorpe, where he remained until his death in May 1574, and in his will he requested to be buried in the churchyard of Armthorpe, near his sister.1
