Cistercian Abbeys: TINTERN PARVA

1. Both Tintern and Graiguenamanagh were founded by William Marshal, earl of Leinster, on land that had been conquered by the English. Thus they both contributed to the settlement of the newly conquered territories and became part of the fabric of the Anglo-Norman lordship of Ireland. R.
